Have you ever sat down and wondered where your life is going or where it has been? I was doing just that a few years ago, the whole looking back on life evaluation (mind you I was sitting on my back porch with a glass of wine and my small children running around my feet) and I felt I needed a change. Here I am cutting calories and thinking it was the best way to loose weight and keep it off. I was what the medical world would refer to as “thin fat,” meaning I was not overweight but I was headed that way if I kept up the same habits.
I kept thinking to myself, there has to be a better way to achieve fitness and look good without committing to a “diet” for the rest of my life.
Right then and there I decided I wanted to pursue a passion of mine, nutrition. Fast forward to today, at 52 years old, and as an active mother of two, a wife, a instructor, a coach, and competitive road cyclist for the past 18 years, I have learned a lot. I am a Certified Fitness Instructor and Nutrition Coach. As a mom, I am focused on providing my family with healthy, tasty meals that don’t include a lot of unnecessary ingredients and preservatives. As a woman, I am passionate about eating real whole foods and not buying into the latest fads of “diets” and starvation to improve my body. No more dieting for this gal! I’ve hit my own triumphs and trials in this endeavor and that is what I want to share.
Five years ago, I found I was hitting a fitness plateau and wanted to continue to maintain my fitness goals but get leaner and smarter about the way I ate. I was striving to keep my weight low and my strength high. I adopted a clean method of eating that has allowed me and countless others to achieve this goal. It comes down to eating real food and moving your body everyday. This site is about sharing what I have learned with others on a personal basis along with other tidbits of information to get us through this crazy thing we call life.
This is how far I have come today, and it is achievable. To give you an example, I scheduled these photo to be taken during recovery from an injury, not on purpose mind you. So I had not worked out, but had only kept me eating plan consistent, for over a month. These results are due of my commitment to clean eating alone. With focus and work you can make big changes in your fitness and nutrition goals. I would love to help you outline and meet your nutrition goals.
